George3, John2, Johannes1), son of Isaac and
Anna (Brainerd) Oatman, was born at Arlington, Bennington County, Vermont, 22
September 1788 and died 8 August 1867 in Tolland, Massachusetts.
He married: 1) 14 October 1809 Abigail, daughter of Titus
and Deborah (Beckwith) Hayes, born in Hartland, Connecticut, 2 May 1788, and
died there 24 January 1843; 2) 2 May
1843 Sarah L. Stiles of Suffield, Hartford County, Connecticut. In 1860 he and Sarah were living in Suffield.

Rochester, PA; m. Jemuel Woodruff, 20 Aug 1835.
He was b. 2 Aug 1804, Colebrook, CT; d. Jan 1899, Rochester, PA. Both bur. Lacock Cemetery, Rochester, Beaver
Co., PA. Jemuel left New England, the
family home for generations, loaded his possessions into a wagon, attached one
horse and all of the livestock that he kept, and moved with Julia to Rochester,
where he died at the age of 96. There he
engaged in furniture making, at one time being proprietor of a factory; he was
also an undertaker. He discontinued both
of these businesses at the time of the gold discoveries in California, when he
joined the rush in search of riches.
During nearly all of his mature years Jemuel held membership in the
Masonic Order and, at the time of his death, was one of the oldest Masons in
the U. S. Julias obituary stated that
she died at her home, South Rhode Island street,
Rochester, PA, at 12:30 a.m., Thursday, August 13, 1896; her death was due to
a stroke of paralysis sustained last March. ...Mrs. Woodruff was a life long Presbyterian until the organization of the
Rochester Congregational church, when she became identified with that
denomination.

George was a prosperous businessman, dealing in lumber. He was a Presbyterian in religion, Republican
in politics, and fraternally affiliated with the Modern Woodmen of the World

b. in Rochester, PA, 7 Nov 1865. He
attended public schools in Rochester, later obtaining a position with the
Rochester Tumbler Company where he worked for 18 years. He then was employed by the Rochester Glass
Company for three years, and the next year with the Libbey Glass Company of
Toledo, OH. For two years he was
president of the Woodruff Glass Mould Company, of
Toledo, after which he became sole owner of the Mould
and Machine Company of Rochester, PA, which was established in 1906. Frank married, 1 Dec 1892, May Menuez, b. Fredricksburg, Wayne
Co., OH, 16 Jul 1871, daughter of Theodore and Elizabeth (First) Menuez, and d. 1 May 1964, Beaver, PA. Frank died 2 Jul 1946. Children, surname Woodruff:

week of mourning, his aged wife, Mariette Parsons, followed him to the silent
land. Not often is so long and happy a
reunion broken to be so quickly restored.
Through the vicissitudes of nearly sixty years, they trod the path of
life together, rejoicing in the brightness, and comforting and sustaining each
other when trials and sorrows were their lot.
Lovely and pleasant in their lives, in death they were not divided."
