1357 FRANKLIN D.⁷ (Roswell⁶, Asahel⁵, Benjamin⁴, George³, John², Johannes¹), son of Roswell and Emmeline (Hicks) Oatman, was born about 1855 (per Michigan marriage and census records).

He married, on 4 July 1877, Cynthia Bowerman, in Mayville, Tuscola County, Michigan. She was born in 1853 in Ontario (Michigan marriage records), and died in 1916. They were both residing in Watertown, Michigan, at the time they were married, where he was farming.
