Warren7 (George6, Oscar5, Benjamin4, George3, John2, Johannes1), son of George Oatman, was born in Jefferson County, New York, 18 September 1831 and died at Springford, Oxford County, Ontario, 8 August 1895. He married Clarissa, daughter of Martin, Jr., and Lodicea (Oles) Hicks, who was born 9 June 1830, and died 29 January 1896.
Warren and his family settled at Springford, Ontario. He was a shoemaker and belonged to the Baptist Church, even though they were listed in the 1851 Oxford County census as Quakers. According to the 1861 Canada West census, the family lived in a one-story frame house on two and a half acres. They had one horse, one cow and three pigs valued at $41, and two carriages valued at $50. Warren had $500 capital invested in his business.
The Minutes of 23 January 1869 of the First Regular Baptist Church of Christ, South Norwich, state: "Covenant meeting at which the following were rec'd, viz, . . . Warren Oatman, Restored . . ."
Both Warren and Clarissa are buried at Springford Cemetery.
