1473     CLARKE WALTER OATMAN

 

1473    CLARKE WALTER7     (Walter6Elias5, Benjamin4, George3, John2, Johannes1), son of Walter and Martha Ann (Parker) Oatman, was born 3 November 1859, Jefferson County, New York, and died there 24 January 1901.

 

In 1880, Adams, New York, Clarke lived in the household of Herbert and Emma Loveland where he worked on their farm. 

 

He married Ella Candace Greene, and they farmed at Adams Center, New York.  Ella was received in 1885 at the Honeyville Baptist Church.  They moved to Watertown about 1891, where he was employed in Greene & Underhill’s grocery store. 

 

Clark’s obituary from Watertown, New York, January 24, 1901, states that Clark died suddenly at his home in the rear of No. 6½ Munson Street; his death certificate named the cause of his death as “smallpox; contributing cause, heart disease.”

 

            Both are buried in the State Road (Honeyville) Cemetery at Adams Center.

3506    Robert; bur. N. Watertown Cemetery.  Robert was said to be “of the Hawaiian Islands” in 1926.
