1646 ELIJAH CHAPMAN OATMAN
1646 ELIJAH CHAPMAN7 (Isaac H.6, Elisha5, Isaac4, George3, John2, Johannes1), son of Isaac H. and Charlotte (Chapman) Oatman, was born at Hartford, Washington County, New York, 31 December 1863 (1866 per DAR Lineage Book 96/29).
In 1880, Elijah was living with his uncle, Merrett J. Oatman (#510), in Argyle, Washington County, New York.
He was married, on 10 October 1888, to Elizabeth, daughter of Edward and Katie Irwin of West Hebron, New York. She was born 17 November 1868 in Hebron, New York, and died in Albany, New York, 29 October 1936.
Elijah Chapman Oatman was graduated from West Hebron High School, the Albany Business College and from Renouards School of Embalming in New York City. For many years he conducted an undertaking and furniture business in Cambridge, New York. His wife Elizabeth was managing a boarding house in 1910
