2202     GEORGE JONATHAN OATMAN

 

 

2202    GEORGE JONATHAN8  (Albert Daniel7, William6, William5, Daniel4, George3, John2, Johannes1), son of Albert Daniel and Loesa (Babcock) Oatman, was born in Richland Township, Michigan, 1 July 1891.

 

He married, 25 November 1912, Luna Josephine, daughter of Jenner Cary and Hercia (Knox) Trowbridge, born 1892.

 

The family settled in Kalamazoo, Van Buren County, Michigan, where George worked as a machinist; they later removed to Whittier, Los Angeles County, California, where he was in charge of transport for the Citrus Fruit Interests. 

 

Children of George Jonathan and Luna Josephine (Trowbridge) Oatman:

 

4905    Esther Jane, b. 17 Apr 1915

 

4906    Frederick George, b. 8 July 1921; d. late 1980's or early 1990's

 

4907    Jonathan Knox, b. 15 Dec 1923.  He grew up in Whittier, CA, serving in World War II in the Navy and took part in the Battle of Normandy.  He m. Francis June Piscatelli as his second wife.  Jonathan was a mechanic.  He d. in 1977 or 1978, with his wife dying in 1984.  Children, surname Oatman:

 

                                    A         Steve, living in UT in 2000, unmarried.

 

B         David Lloyd, b. 1956, Whittier, CA.  David graduated from Hemet High School in 1974 where he met Laurie Ellen Prendez, b. 1956.  They were married in 1975.  In 1981 the family moved to Seattle, WA.  David was not on good terms with his father and in the early 1990's he changed his name to David Raymond McRae, in honor of an uncle by whom he was raised; his children took the surname Prendez.  David is an accounts executive with AT&T in Redmond, WA, and currently live in Kirkland, WA. Children, surname Prendez:

 

                                                I     Jacob Eric “Jake” [Oatman], b. 1976.  Jake graduated from University of Washington and currently runs a Food Bank at El Centro de la Raza, a community service organization in Seattle.  He m. Rosalind Estira Madayag.  Children, surname Prendez:

 

                                                                        a          David Miguel Madayag, b. 1997

 

                                                                        b          Alena Jade Madayag, b. 1999

 

                                                II         Rebecca June [Oatman], b. 1983, Evergreen Hosp., Seattle, WA; m. Michael Shallue; liv. Oregon where Michael is stationed in the Coast Guard.
