252 DAVID W.6 (David5, Samuel4, George3, John2, Johannes1), son of David and
Betsy (Clough) Oatman, was born 17 November 1811 in Washington County, New
York, and died 29 November 1867 in Napoleon Township, Jackson County, Michigan,
of heart disease. He is buried in Oak
Grove Cemetery in Napoleon; his gravestone has on it a Mason emblem.
He married 1) Ann
Jane _____, who was born 2 April 1816 and died 2 September 1859 and is buried
next to David in Oak Grove Cemetery.
He married 2)
Julia C. Anderson, daughter of Daniel and Nancy (Patrick) Anderson; she was
born 31 March 1827 in New York, and died 14 September 1898 in Napoleon. She was the widow of George Elliot.
David and Ann were
in Columbia, Jackson County, Michigan, in 1850, where he was a farmer. By 1860 Ann had died and their son, Lawrence,
was living with Reuben and Eliza Andrews in Napoleon.

23; bur. Oak Grove Cemetery, Napoleon, Jackson Co., MI, with his parents. Lawrence was living with Reuben and Eliza
Andrews in 1860 in Napoleon, MI. It is
said he served in the Civil War under the name Lawrence Youngs.
