364 PARKER OATMAN

364 PARKER⁶ (Asahel⁵, Benjamin⁴, George³, John², Johannes¹), son of Asahel and Sarah (Parker) Oatman, was born in Cooperstown, Otsego County, New York, 11 May 1810, and died in Greenwood, St. Clair County, Michigan, 26 December 1887, at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 15 days.

Parker married: 1) 2 February 1834 in Norwich, Oxford County, Ontario, Nancy, daughter of Martin, Sr., and Nancy (Perkins) Hicks, who was born 2 September 1809 and died in Oxford County, Ontario, 7 November 1847, aged 38 years, 9 months, 5 days. Nancy is buried in Springford Cemetery, Springford, Oxford County, Ontario.

The family settled on a farm in Seneca County, New York, and removed to Tillsonburg, Ontario, in 1835. Parker was a member of the board of overseers of highways in South Norwich, Ontario, on 2 January 1837.

After Nancy's death in 1847, Parker married: 2) Lucina, daughter of Martin and Maria (Lossing) Austin, born in New York 5 October 1821, and died in Greenwood, St. Clair County, Michigan, 5 March 1908; she is buried in Spring Hill Cemetery, Fargo, in St. Clair County. The marriage took place on 15 June 1848, and in 1856 the family removed to St. Clair County, where they acquired farm property. In 1860, Parker was living next to his brothers, Ruben/Reuben and Roswell Oatman in St. Clair County.

Lucina's name has been spelled in many different ways. Gravestones in Spring Hill Cemetery, Fargo, Michigan, and other records, show the following: her name in many county records is spelled differently, i.e., Losina on her marriage record; Lucina on some of the children's marriage records; Lusana on her own death record; and the stone marking her grave reads Lusanna.

1331 Albin/Albion, b. 20 Aug 1841, Tillsonburg, Oxford Co., ON; d. 21 Dec 1928, Greenwood, St. Clair Co., MI; m. Louisa Van Meer after 1870 in Greenwood, MI.

1332 Elvira, b. ca 1848. Elvira is in the 1851 census of Oxford Co., ON, age 3, but may have died young, as she is not listed with the family again.
