374 CHARLES6 (Darius5, Benjamin4, George3, John2, Johannes1), son of Darius and
Jerushia Oatman, was born at Adams Center, Jefferson County, New York, in 1822,
and died at Springford, Oxford County, Ontario, 18 August 1902. He married, 26 June 1843, Dorliska Hannah,
daughter of Benjamin and Betsey (Farmer) Bunce, who was born 15 November 1822
in New York, and died 6 November 1909, South Norwich, Ontario. They are both buried in Springford Cemetery
at Springford, Ontario (picture).
Charles removed to
Ontario with his father about 1833 and settled in South Norwich Township,
Oxford County, where he was a farmer. In
1864 Charles was a trustee of School Section #9 at nearby Cornell, and he and
Dorliska were members of the First Regular Baptist Church of Christ at Norwich,
Ontario, where Charles was baptized 16 December 1860 and Dorliska on 27 May
1843.
