3760 JAMES HARVEY OATMAN

3760 JAMES HARVEY⁸ (Harrison B.⁷, Harry B.⁶, Lyman⁵, George⁴, George³, John², Johannes¹), son of Harrison B. and Lucena K. (Ross) Oatman, was born 28 January 1849, in Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois (Ogle County, Illinois, per obituary from Southern Oregon), and died 8 August 1926 in Multnomah County, Oregon.

He traveled to Jackson County, Oregon, in 1853, arriving there in September with his parents in a covered wagon, and settling in the Rogue River Valley, near Phoenix. In 1870 he was living in Phoenix in Jackson County with Nathan K. and Lucy Ross, probably his mother's family. He also lived with Samuel Colver of Phoenix, and served in the Indian Wars as a teamster.

On 31 December 1874 he married Priscilla Lucille Dollarhide "of Iowa" in Jackson County, Oregon; she was born in 1857, died 9 November 1932, daughter of Jesse, Jr., and Nancy (Mary) (Murphy) Dollarhide. In 1888, he bought the Dad Little farm near Phoenix, sold it and went to Bonanza, Klamath County, Oregon, where he conducted a general merchandise store, moving to Portland, Oregon, November 15, 1891. He built a home on his father's farm near Portland and also erected a store building and several cottages in East Portland. He also owned a farm near McMinnville, Oregon, where he resided for several years, later returning to Portland, where he died 8 August 1926. Living with them in 1920 were their daughter, Jessie Stewart, age 38, and a granddaughter, Thressa Bell, age 18.

6254 Pholia Harrison, b. 30 Mar 1888, OR; m. Blanche ; d. 1967; bur. Goldenrod Cemetery, Tekoa, Whitman Co., WA. In 1912, Pholia was listed as a painter in the Portland City Directory; in 1914 and 1915, married, he was an oiler for PRL&P.
