487 LOYAL OATMAN

487 LOYAL⁶ (Arnold⁵, Isaac⁴, George³, John², Johannes¹ ), son of Arnold and Abigail (Hayes) Oatman, was born 13 July 1818 in Hartland, Connecticut, and died 1 June 1870 in Winsted, Connecticut of epilepsy.

He married on 21 October 1844 Emily H., daughter of Elisha and Hannah Johnson, who was born 24 February 1822 at Barkhamsted, Connecticut, and died 28 December 1896 at Winsted.

Loyal was a carriage maker while living in Massachusetts, and became an undertaker while living in Connecticut.

1560 Harriet Justine, b. 15 May 1851, Sandisfield, Berkshire Co., MA. Unmarried.

1561 Nellie Louise, b. 25 Mar 1855, Sandisfield, Berkshire Co., MA; m. Charles Sumner Burke, of LaCrosse, WI, 31 Dec 1879; he was b. 26 Nov 1856. Nellie is listed as married, but living with her mother Emily in 1880; in 1900, she, with her son Robert, are living with her sister Hattie in Winchester, Litchfield Co., CT. By 1910 she and Harriet continued residing in Winchester together. Children, surname Burke:
