63 PELEG OATMAN

63 PELEG⁵ (Daniel⁴, George³, John², Johannes¹), son of Daniel and Mary (Spencer) Oatman, was born at Arlington, Bennington County, Vermont, 20 September 1770, and died there 1 April 1813. He married 1 January 1795 Sarah Millington, born 1774, died 21 November 1854 at the age of 80 years.

The family settled at Arlington where Peleg was a farmer. He served in the United States Army for a time and was Sergeant in the 5th Company, 2nd Regiment of the 2nd Division on January 10, 1809.

In the 1850 census of Arlington, Sarah, age 77, was living with her son Daniel, and daughter Sarah. She was most probably dead by 1860, but Daniel and her daughter Sarah were still in Arlington, where Daniel was a farmer.
