90 BENJAMIN D. OATMAN
90 BENJAMIN D.5 (Benjamin4,
George3, John2, Johannes1), son of Benjamin
and Bethia (Smith) Oatman, was born at
Oxford, New Haven County, Connecticut, in 1776, and died at Hartford,
Washington County, New York, on 18 March 1825.
He married Lodice
"Sadie" Wilson, who was born 1781 in Belchertown, Hampshire County,
Massachusetts, daughter of Guild and Ruth (Ward) Wilson, and died 14 March 1853
at Hartford, New York. Both are buried
in Old Hartford Cemetery, Hartford, New York.
In 1830, Lodice, a
widow by then, was living with five of her children in Hartford; by 1850, at
age 69, she was living with her son John, a farmer, and her daughter Ruth, both
of whom were unmarried.
The correct birth
order of the children is not known due to lack of birth dates.
