He married Alletta J. Arneson, who was born about 1846 in Norway.
David was the Clerk of Erie County,
New York, in 1877-1879, and in 1884 was on the Angola Board of Education. He
succeeded his father in the operation of a general store, which he was running
in 1884. In 1900, David's wife is Mary A. (Alletta) born May 1862, New York, and
there are three children: Minnie
D., Lulu B., and David C. Oatman.
