3783 ELMER R.⁸ (Harvey B.⁷, Harry B.⁶, Lyman⁵, George⁴, George³, John², Johannes¹), son of Harvey Benjamin and Lucy Jane (Hadley) Oatman, was born 6 February 1862, in Phoenix, Jackson County, Oregon, and died 13 June 1931 in Medford, Oregon. At the time of his death he lived in the Perrydale Addition of Jacksonville, Oregon (Star Route).

He married Segourney Ann Talent, daughter of Aaron Patton (founder of the City of Talent, Oregon), and Martha Edwards Talent. Segourney was born 12 October 1865 in Knoxville, Tennessee, and died 1 February 1928 in Medford, Oregon. She and Elmer are buried in Medford.
