93     DARIUS OATMAN

 

 

93        DARIUS⁵     (Benjamin⁴, George³, John², Johannes¹), son of Benjamin and  Bethia (Smith) Oatman, was born in Adams Center, Jefferson County, New York, 14 February 1787, and died 27 May 1873 at Springford, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada.  He married ca 1820 Jerushia      , born 12 January 1795 in Connecticut, and died 3 October 1867.  They are both buried in Springford Cemetery. 

 

About 1833 the family removed to South Norwich, Oxford County, Ontario, from New York, where they resided during their lifetime.  Darius and Jerushia were Baptists and farmers.  After his wife's death, Darius lived with his son Oliver, where he is recorded in the 1871 census of Cornell, Ontario, age 83.
